The Vancouver General Hospital
Important Instruction Concerning the Filling of Hot Water Bottles
The following precautions are to be observed:
Temperature--135' F. for adults
120' F. for children
To be taken invariably with bath thermometer
Leakage--Test carefully to ensure there is no leakage
Covering--Ensure that the bottle is properly placed in the regulation cover.
Never Fill Hot Water Bottles Directly From The Tap.
Seriously Ill or Unconscious Patients are to be first covered with a blanket, to the outside of which hot water bottles will be applied. The positions of the hot water bottles should then be changed frequently.
The above rules must be strictly adhered to in all cases.
