Text reads: "The Royal Red Cross (Class II) - N/S Ada Taylor, A.R.R.C., C.A.M.C. Taylor graduated in nursing from the V.G.H. in 1910. When the war broke out, she enlisted in the Medical Corps and spent the Winter of 1916-17 with No.5 Canadian General Hospital in Solonika, Greece, on the Balkan Front. In August 1917, she was transferred to No.3 General Hospital in Boulogne, France, where she served for the duration of the war. TERMS instituted in 1883 - first military decoration created for women. In 1917, a Second Class or Assoc. Royal Red Cross was introduced and awarded to nurses, nurses aides, or volunteers who had 'performed an exceptional act of bravery and devotion to the post of duty' (red and graty bow)."
