Class of February 1980 35th Reunion in May 2015

Class of February 1980 35th Reunion in May 2015.

Our reunion was held May 9 – 10, 2015 in Vancouver at the Holiday Inn on Broadway.

It started with 26 of us on Saturday afternoon with a guided tour of VGH by Alumnae Association President, Kathy Murphy. Lots of fun & chatter ensued as we caught up on all of the changes that VGH has & continues to go through. Thank you Kathy for your time and knowledge! We went our separate ways until we met again for an Appetizer Reception in a Suite at the Hotel.

Let the fun begin: we were 35 strong at this point! On arrival we put on a homemade nursing cap (wonderful, fun idea) with our names on it! As we caught up with each other we looked through photo albums and other memorabilia from those wonderful days spent at Nursing School but especially Residence Life!

Who would have thought we would remember the words to “The Probie Song”….which we did and sang several times! The fun continued as we walked down to Milestones for a lovely dinner!

Afterwards to the hotel suite for a PJ party!

To top off a wonderful event, several classmates met for brunch on Sunday in False Creek! Also a shout out to those who were able to travel a distance to celebrate with us locals: Ellen – Saudi Arabia, Louise – Switzerland, Debbie – California, Karen – Penticton, Faye – Duncan, Calli – Nanaimo, Julie – Coldstreamand if I missed anyone, my apologies!

We missed the classmates who couldn’t make our reunion, maybe next time. We also missed 2 of our classmates who passed away: R.I.P. Barb & Audrey.

A special thank you to Marylou and Janet for making our time together at our 35th Reunion a memorable one to say the least. Until we meet again!
